Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Visit MixinMEup and click Sign Up. Enter your email and choose a password, or use one of our social login options — Google, Apple, Facebook, Spotify, or Discord. Your personal profile is created automatically when you register.

Do I need to verify my email address?

Yes. After signing up, we'll send a verification email to the address you provided. Click the link in that email to confirm your account. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder, or request a new verification email from your account settings.

Can I sign up using Google or a social media account?

Yes. We support sign-in via Google, Apple, Facebook, Spotify, and Discord. When you use one of these for the first time, we create an account using the email associated with that service. You can connect or disconnect social logins at any time from your account settings.

What is the difference between a User and a Profile?

Your User account is your login — it holds your email, password, and security settings. Your Profile is your public identity on the platform. Every user gets a Personal Profile automatically. You can also create additional profiles (Artist, Band, Venue, etc.) and switch between them to interact on the platform as different identities.

Your Profile

How do I edit my profile?

Go to your profile page and click Edit Profile, or navigate to Settings → Profile. You can update your display name, bio, avatar, cover photo, and any type-specific details — for example, genre tags for an artist profile or operating hours for a venue.

Can I have more than one profile?

Yes. You can manage multiple profiles from a single account — for example, a personal profile, an artist profile, and a band profile. To create a new profile, open the profile switcher in the top navigation and select Create a new profile. There is no limit to the number of profiles you can manage.

How do I switch between my profiles?

Click the profile switcher in the top navigation bar — it shows your currently active profile. Select any of your other profiles from the dropdown to switch instantly. All social actions (posts, event confirmations, follows, reactions) will appear as coming from whichever profile is currently active.

Can I change my @handle?

You can change your handle once within 72 hours of creating a profile. After that window closes, handles can only be changed by an administrator. If you need a handle change after the initial window, please contact us at support@mixinmeup.com.

How do I control who can see my information?

Each profile has privacy settings that let you control the visibility of individual fields. Fields can be set to Public (visible to everyone), Restricted (visible only to your followers or mutual connections), or Private (visible only to you). Go to Settings → Privacy to review and adjust your settings.

Events

How do I create an event?

Any Artist, Band, Venue, or Festival profile can create an event. Go to your profile and click Create Event, or find the option in your profile's navigation menu. Fill in the event details — title, date, time, location, ticket info — and invite other participants to the lineup.

How does the guest invitation and confirmation process work?

When you create an event, you can invite Artists, Bands, or other profiles as performers. Each invited profile receives a notification and can confirm or decline independently. Once at least one party confirms, the event appears on that profile's public page and is eligible for promotion in discovery.

Can I decline an event invitation?

Yes. If you receive an invitation you can't or don't want to accept, simply decline it. Declining removes the event from your profile's listings. You can revisit the invitation later and confirm if your situation changes.

How do I RSVP to an event?

On any event page, click Going, Interested, or Can't Go to record your RSVP. Your response is visible on your profile and helps friends and followers see what you're planning to attend.

How long is an event promoted on the platform?

Events are promoted in discovery and search results for up to three months. Any party involved in the event — venue, artist, or band — can refresh the promotion window at any time to extend visibility for another three months.

Safety & Privacy

How do I report a profile or piece of content?

Every profile, event, article, and post has a Report option in the overflow menu (three dots). Select the reason that best describes the issue and submit. Our moderation team reviews all reports.

How do I block another profile?

Visit the profile you want to block, open the overflow menu (three dots), and select Block. Blocking prevents that profile from seeing your content, following you, or interacting with your posts. You can manage your blocked list in Settings → Privacy.

How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy, then enter the verification code to complete setup. We'll also provide backup recovery codes — keep these somewhere safe in case you lose access to your authenticator app.

How do I manage my active sessions?

Go to Settings → Security → Active Sessions to see all devices currently logged into your account. You can revoke any individual session or sign out of all sessions at once — useful if you believe your account may have been compromised.

How do I request a copy of my data or delete my account?

To download a copy of your data, go to Settings → Account → Data Export. To permanently delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes your account and all personal data we hold about you. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
